You’ve demanded it! PRS and AGH are proud to announce a joint field trip event – FIELD TRIP 9: RETURN TO DARKNESS FALLS! Attendees will travel to West Virginia State Penitentiary August 8-10th, 2010 for an intense journey filled with brand new lectures, workshops, demonstrations, events, tours and ghost hunts.
Due to the size of the location, ghost hunts will be longer and more intense. Field Trippers will have the opportunity to visit the Sugar Shack, the Hole, Hospital Wing, jail cells, psych unit and more! Investigations will be going on until sunrise.
West Virginia State Penitentiary was one of the most dangerous prisons in American until it shut down. In 2009, PRS investigated the location and the episode, known as “Darkness Falls,” became an instant hit amongst “Paranormal State” fans.
FT9 will be packed with new events and a few new speakers to offer a fresh and exciting event you won’t want to miss. For more information on what will be offered, look below. Details on purchasing tickets are also listed further down!

While most lectures will be held off-site, some will also take place on the grounds of the prison. Although full details on lectures have not been released, each lecture for Field Trip 9 will be brand new. At least two new guest speakers will be added to the lineup, as well. Additionally, a presentation on the haunted history of prison will be given (featuring evidence collected at the prison from various investigations). Buell will also unveil his upcoming book, “Paranormal State: My Journey into the Unknown” during FT9.
Get ready for the most hands-on experience when it comes to ghost hunts, yet! Due to the size of the location, PRS Field Trips will get to offer unique ghost hunting opportunities for FT9.
Monitor at Tech: A limited number of those wishing to participate at tech HQ will be able to sit down at command center and monitor the investigations, real-time.
Watch Investigations Real Time: FT9 will attempt to set up a viewing center for those wishing to observe the investigations 
as it unfolds. As people are placed at certain spots for “challenges,” people will get to observe. (please note: only those who consent to having their investigations viewed will be available for viewing. Likewise, the viewing parties are really meant to show the intensity of the investigation).
Take “the challenge:” Those who feel they have enough experience and can handle the intensity will be allowed to sign up for The Challenge – where you and a fellow investigator go to one of the creepier parts of the prison and have to stay there for a certain time period. *rules and restrictions apply* (please note: The Pentagram room will NOT be available for FT9 due to safety precautions)
Beginner’s & Advanced Ghost Hunts: Both groups will be given unique opportunities to investigate intense parts of the prison.
From Duek Til’ Dawn: Unlike previous Field Trips where locations had time constraints, this location will be available until dawn. This means ghost hunting allowances per group will dramatically increase.
As a special treat, Field Trippers will enjoy a complimentary dinner where they can also watch a special edition of “Darkness Falls.” Afterwards, the team will give a Q&A.
