Elizabeth
A lady in a white wedding dress. She has been seen both by employees and guests for years. Her story is so well known for the hotel that they have named the new restaurant at the hotel after her. The smell of lilac is said to be one of the signs of her presence in the halls. Other then appearing as a bride, the description of her face seems to be vague. A couple, assumed to be Elizabeth and her husband, have been seen dancing in the ballroom on the main level. The cause of her death is always connected to the hotel fire that happened in the 1940’s. A few of the rooms on the third level are said to be her room—where she supposedly died in the fire. Her husband or, husband-to-be survived; his name is never given.
Little boy on tricycle
The little boy is often heard on the second level biking around the hall. People have claimed to hear the clinking of metal late at night. Others have also reported feeling a tug on the leg or hear giggling in the halls. He is said to have died from falling down one of the stairwells back in the 1940’s. No one knows his name or whether he was a an employee’s or guest’s child. One of the major pieces of evidence connected to the hotel is a small shadowy apparition spotted in the stairwell while a family was filming a tour of the place. However, the stairwell that this was filmed is possibly a newer addition to the hotel and not the one typically associated with the child. It has been also questioned whether it was a boy or a girl.
The Butcher
A figure of a man in a chef’s uniform has been seen in the kitchen and ballroom area of the hotel. Employees have reported having knives either tossed at them or have found knives sticking out of the wall. Pots and pans have been moved and tossed about in the kitchen as well. His figure has also been spotted in the ally way behind the building where the garbage is thrown out. Supposedly, he was the butcher and for some reason was murdered at the hotel. His body was dumped in the ally behind the building. He is never given a name and is only known as ‘The Butcher.’
The Mason
A figure possibly connected with the annual Masonic outing during the early twenty century has been seen in the lobby in the evening during sunset. He is most often seen gesturing toward his neck in a slashing motion, leading many to suspect that he died from a knife to the throat. He is a tall figure seen in dark cloths with a large square necklace. His name is also unknown.
