PRS was contacted by staff members of the hotel back in July 2009.  Upon scouting the case, PRS instantly decided to line it up for an investigation.  The investigation was formally conducted in August 2009 and it was one of the highlights of the fourth season.  Doors were found open (or shut on their own) and apparitions were seen.  “Honest to god, it was one of the most hair-raising investigations I did,” said Ryan Buell, “which is funny because I’ve been on some really intense ones.  But in this scenario, I’m on the third floor alone with just one camera guy, completely in the dark, with about two dozen doors that keep opening on its own.  I half-expected a serial murderer to pull me in to one of the rooms.”

When PRS was first contacted, they were told that a variety of evidence already existed for Hotel Conneaut, since the apparitions of a little boy, woman in white and a bloody chef were seen by several people.  The following evidence was found and submitted to PRS:

According to the person who took the video, the small child seen by the stairway was not his and was not seen at the time that he taped the video.  His interview and testimony was used as part of the investigation as seen in the episode.

Furthermore, PRS obtained a slew of new evidence, which can be seen by watching the episode.
